I heard from Northwestern today. Got an offer (IHR programme). Any clue when they start making financial assistance decisions?

last year it was later in the spring. a good tip for you guys: take as many Scheffer's courses are available...

Thanks. I just checked the admitted students website. The last date for tuition deposit is 1st April. Says they will announce fellowship decisions before that.
Will keep your words in mind about Scheffer. :)

Usually they grant no more than 1 full-tuition and 1/2 half-tuition scholarships... don't want to kill your hopes, but unless you really need money you won't be given any... it's fair to say that this is not a very generous school in this regard...

Hi! I'm new commer. I'm still waiting for the decision from NW. I've checked the my status on the NW's website. It said that my application is not complete! That's very confusing me caz I've sent all required docs since Jan'10 and it also mentioend in the status check's website that they received my letters of recommendation and a TOEFL score report. I'm also being a fan of NW Admission on FB. It shows that they've sent many batches of decison for LLM/K. Please advise what I should do next. Thanx a lot!

Vivid, don't worry. I sent all the materials to NW on January 14. NW didn't register my application as complete until March 17. I received notice of admission two days later on March 19. Go figure. I've had similar experiences. All my applications went out on or before January 14. It took at least 4 weeks for the first application to register complete. Some took 6 weeks or more. In each instance I was admitted within five days from when my application was finally submitted to the admissions committee. NW and NYU didn't even respond to my emails inquiring as to the status of my applications other than a standard reply indicating that they were busy processing applications and that some one would get back to me when they got to my applications. Then all of a sudden I received notice from both law schools that my applications had been submitted to the ad com and a few days later I received an admission notice. It is impossible to get inside their heads. Hope this is helpful.

Cmplxlitigator, Thank you for sharing your info. I understand that they may very busy with numerous applications. My concern is that if I get delay response, I'll loose the opportunity to study short courses (3-4 months) before classes start as sponsored by my company. It depends which school I'll go so I can select the proper place to study such short courses for preparation prior to the entry. I'll keep waiting anyway. BTW, congratulations!!! Did you decide which school you will go?

Anyone got any thoughts on the LLM/K program versus the LLM in corporations at NYU + APCLB (advanced professional certificate in law and business). Have been admitted to NYU and LLM/K and cannot decide which one is better.

Elainamico,
Either school will give you an excellent education. Both programs will offer opportunities to take classes at their business schools. Whereas the NW program is structured to include business classes NYU allows you to take some elective classes at their business school. Also you will have a wide selection of courses at NYU to take to earn a LLM in corporation law. For instance you could concentrate on corporate governance and relations between shareholders (and partners because partnership law is part of the corporate law concentration) or you can concentrate on a more business oriented course such as corporate finance. In the end you can more or less obtain the same concentration at either school. In fact at the conclusion of either program there will be classes you would have liked to take but couldn't fit in before completing your degree requirements.
Within the US both the the law and business schools at NW and NYU are considered more or less equal. The quality of education at both schools is outstanding. So what it comes down to is which school and city you like most. In the end it may be the cost of living that will influence your choice. Chicago is more affordable in both cost of housing and transportation. Commutes will be much shorter in Chicago.
With all humility these are my opinions only.

How many students are there in the Taxation (full-time and part-time) and International Human Rights LLM programs?
Posted Apr 09, 2010 19:15
Has anyone heard from the Part-Time, Tax LL.M program, for Fall 2010?
I got told (after N.U. erroneously said my decision was posted) that Part-Time applicants don't find out until Spring/early Summer....Anyone know anything more or different?

Has anyone received financial aid decision from Northwestern Law? When they are going to send out the fellowships?
Posted Apr 10, 2010 05:04
They have already sent out fellowship final decisions and rejections. Anyone who wanted it should have applied for it last month.
