Northwestern, Cornell, UCLA

Well, I am now in a great dilemma with choosing which one of these three law schools. Actually I have decided to go to Northwestern, but I just got admission from UCLA a few days ago, a nice place to live, compared with the freezingly cold winter in Chicago.

Well, I wonder if Northwestern enjoys a more reputable status in USA than UCLA ? The academic status is the thing I care most, surely the location also should be taken into consideration. Could any friends here give me some suggestions? If you were me, which one would you go and why? Thank you in advance.

Today I got the written admission material from Cornell, so, another difficulty......

Northwestern is n°12 whereas UCLA is n° 15 and Cornell is n°13.

I would say go to Northwestern.

Ryan's reply is odd because he recommended Northwestern over Cornell in this other page :

He said :
"NW definitely
- ranking
- reputation
- location (everything is better than ithaca)
- and last but not least, NW carreer dprtmnt"

Ranking changes every year according to USNEWS mood. Cornell is far more prestige and is Ivy League, I dropped NU and Duke and, so far, I am going to Cornell. Good luck on your decision. best regards,

I am not so sure that Cornell is "far more" prestige than NW and Duke (also UCLA), and I would not recommend to put Ivy League or not as a consideration. Stanford is not an Ivy, but with no doubt it's one of the best.

All your options are great law schools. I think the most important thing is what field you want to study in the US. You should go through their curriculum and faculty profiles and see if there is anything you like more.

And, if you want a urban life, no Cornell. If you want sunny weather, UCLA is the one^^

I would go to UCLA. West LA is a great place to live. Your three choices are ranked so close that it does'nt really matter.

all the friends, thank you all very much.
Well, I think I am really over considered for the reputation they enjoy as they are quite alike the others.

I gonna take the advice to do a more deep research the faculties as I hope to focus on corporate and trade regulations. I would try to find more reasons to persuade myself to go to any one. ^_^

By the way, I do not care so much about the life anywhere ^_^ as long as the campus is beautiful .

It's very kind of you all. Thank you again.
