I have a law degree from Czech Republic, but I have never practiced as a lawyer, because after graduation in 96 I have worked in diplomacy and then with other international organization. Now, 10 years later, I am in US, a citizen now, I have a Masters in international policy from a US university and I would like to go back to law. What are my best options? I intend applying for LLM in DC ( where I am now) or NY. Law school is not really an option, since it would take too long (I am 36) and would be also expensive.
What are the options to get a job in US under these circumstances and would you recommend to specialize in a specific field (like international law) or rather something domestic to be able to get a job in US. I also intend to later take the NY bar exam. Thanks for your thoughts!

seeker,
why dont u do an LLM in something like corporate, fiance, or business law? those are domestic enough. you are in a metropolitan city, since u have no immigration issues, and have substantial work experience, it shouldn't be that hard to get a job of your dreams!

Achie,
thanks for your answer. The issue with corporate, bussiness or finance is that you need to come with a background in the industry, which I dont have. Anyway, I'll look into it.
