Most useful LLM in terms of employability

Hi all!
I plan to apply for an LLM this year and wanted to inquire as to the employability of an LLM graduate. What kind of LLM + state bar leads to a high level of employability for international students. I have graduated with a LLB from another Common Law Jurisdiction. Any and all help will be much appreciated! Thanks!

Probably tax, or one in US law if you're foreign and need an LLM degree to sit the bar here. Most of the rest are either a laugh or a waste of money.

1. General LLM in American Law will generally help you sit for the bar exam at some states.

2. If a particular LLM is too specific on a specialization, you may miss credits to show eligibility to sit for a bar exam. Another way to show eligibility with specialized LLM is to take additional credits which will cost you extra money.

3.As a non-JD job applicant, passing the bar exam is only basic proof that you understand the US law somewhat.

4. Yes the US market is said to be biased against non JD applicants. There are some universities offering a 2-years accelerated JD instead of 3 years, plus great scholarships are offered. If you have patience to study 2 years, please do a JD.

5. Law education is different, Bar License is different, Work permit is altogether different story. Generally F1 visa candidates get 1 year OPT only. H1 visa is generally 3 years work permit, but your employer should file and get the permit for you, also H1 visa is lottery based. Read more on it.

Tax if you can do it in 12 to 15 credits and still get any eligibility units for the Bar.
