Hi, at this stage I am at an early planning stage of my research about llm programs. I will not be able to afford a huge budget course. I am interested in an llm program in the States, ideally an LLM in Mergers & Acquisitions although I am not sure if necessary. I believe an llm in business law will cover the subject as well. Any recommendations are appreciated. Is a specialization in mergers and akquisitions really worth it?

M&A is typically a single (or maybe also an advanced) course in a curriculum. Not aware of any LLM solely in M&A in the US. Depending on your perspective, they're all going to be expensive.

Well, I thought there may be a Mergers & Acquisition program in the States, too as an LLM in Mergers & Acquisition is offered in Europe such as at Frankfurt school, FOM, University of Zurich or Esade. I suppose an alternative would be an LLM in Business law?

Peter,
UC Berkeley offers a M&A program. Not sure if within their regular track or their professional track! Take a look on their website and figure this out!
Good luck!

Hi rbellaver, many thanks for your advice. Do you relate to the LL.M. Business law Certificate at UC Berkely? With three units in Mergers and Acquisitions it seems very decent. Do you know about the requirements for the LLM in business law? Also found an LLM in Busines law at USC Gould with a focus on mergers and acquisitions but I am looking for at least 4 more options. Please help and share your experience.

Stanford (SLS) offers a Master of Laws (LLM) in Corporate Governance & Practice. This law program seeks to provide foreign business and transactional lawyers with a broad ground of expertise in mergers and acquisitions, accounting, bankruptcy, corporations, finance, securities, tax, and venture capital. Fordham University in New York offers a mergers and acquisitions LLM. Alternatively, look at business schools. Columbia Business school offers a summer course in mergers and acquisitions. Wharton University of Pennsylvania offers a mergers and acquisitions program although it does not lead to an LL.M.
