i would like to have some insight on this program that is offered for foreign lawyers or judges. Ive been a lawyer for about 5 years in montreal , canada as a criminal defense attorney and id like to eventually move to california. Any ideas on the procedure for schooling and bar? How many years should i have to go back to school before being allowed to write the bar?

As a foreign attorney, you are eligible to take the California bar exam without any further legal education. You do not need an LL.M, J.D or anything else. You will need to take a solid 2 months off and prepare for the exam by taking a solid bar review course. See the link.
