Hello,

MY query to all the prospective and already admitted LLM students is that whether should I go for General LLM with specialization in tax and corporate laws or do LLM in tax. I want to give CA bar exam. While doing research, I found out that its better to study general LLM as it prepares a foreign attorney well for appearing for CA bar exam whereas on the other hand specific LLM in tax will not include the subjects which are a must for a foreign attorney before they appear for CA bar exam.

Eventually I want to practice in tax and corporate laws in USA in the west coast. So my concentration is on the said fields of Tax and Corporate laws.

I am raising this query so that accordingly I can prepare my SOP.
I have more than 2 years of litigation experience in indirect tax and corporate laws in the Bombay High Court, India. That's why I have made decision of taking up concentrations in tax laws. But the choice between general LLM with specialization in tax or LLM in tax is bit difficult, I am stuck in between these two choices?

Any insights or personal opinions are highly appreciated. Thanks for reading my query.

Regards,
Tulsi
