LLM in Cornell and UPenn

Sunnylady

Hello!

I'm currently applying for the LLM prog in Cornell Georgetown and UPenn The deadlines are Feb 1st 2010 so trying to send off my applications within the next week (today's date is 2nd of jan 2010). I just want to find out how if I stand any chance of geting into these schools. I'm worried about ym chances. fingers crossed.

I am 22 years old, got my LLB degree from King's College London 2009 set.

As far as class rankings is concerned, I have no cluce because King's didn't provide me with this information. I attained a good 2.1 and my grades are competitive enough to secure me a job in any top organization.

Work experience- interned at a law chambers which (one month) in my home country Uganda.

Also interned in United Bank of Africa bank during the summer for a duration of 2months.

I have some petty work experience in tow retail stores (incluing Argos).

I am involved in lots of extra-curricular activities example I visit prisoners to counsel them and I belong to an organization ( we pretty much encourage durg addicts to seek rehabilitation and provide funds to oversee the entire process etc). In the past I mentored young students.

I'm on the research team of Ugandan Economic Sumit Group and we recently released a report on a contentious economic issue. I think it should be avaiable for purchase soon.

Currently in the process of qualifying as a lawyer in the Ugandan jurisdiction.

I can't think of anything else but do you think these qualifications will suffice? What else do I need? Any suggestions? Thanks so much.

I think that sounds well, but nobody except the admissions office will be able to give you the actual answer...

Upenn or cornell? well first tell us that on what basis you have applied in these uni's? of course ranking for all aspect.. otherwise Yale, Sten and Harvard will face the same kind of questions... like tell us that which one is better bt. Harvard and XYZ university.. anyways your q's should be regarding that which program is better in Tax law... i will say.. not Harvard/yale/stan... only NYU... any attorney in USA can tell you this..
