LLM BY RESEARCH

Are there any LLM by research programmes in USA, as in almost every univ in UK? a previous topic from the llm guide is completely inaccurate. i am searching and i cannot find anything. I come from civil law jurisdiction and i am a current phd researcher, so i prefer one year research courses in order to be able to return to my country from time to time.
Secondly, are there any programmes in USA starting in spring whose deadlines have not passed away till today?

Harvard has a program where you can do an LL.M. Thesis, and you get about 10 of the required 22 credits from it, so that's a good option.

Also, if you do the LL.M. in Legal Theory in NYU, you get 8 credits out of the required 24 for the thesis and the thesis seminar. And then the rest of courses you take can all be colloquia.

Finally, I think Yale allows you to cover many of your required credits with writing projects. Check their website.

But in general, I think at all the top schools you can find a way to get MOST of your credit from research/writing (though not all of it).

Hope this helps.
