LLM at Tulane in Business Law

OctoberS

Hi, I have been accepted at Tulane for the American Business Law program and have been offered a grant of approx 50% of the tuition fees. I am an India qualified lawyer and have approximately 4 years of work experience in corporate laws. Would Tulane be a good place to pursue the graduate course? I do know it is quite a reputed university. Request some feed back about the law school and the course in business laws in general. Much appreciated. Thanks

Tulane's Business Law LLM is respected in the United States. It is also well regarded in Europe because Tulane Law is often cited as one of the best American institutions for the study of civil law systems and comparative law. Although I am not sure about the program's clout in the Indian market, I can say that each year Tulane Law hosts the Coporate Law Institute in New Orleans which attracts leaders from the upper eschelon of American corporate society. Below are links to the program for the 2009 Conference (21st Annual), the flier for the 2008 Conference, and the Wikipedia article about the Corporate Law Institute

Because Tulane has both a business school and a law school, which are literally next door to each other, it is a great way to pursue business law. In addition, there is an annual conference called the Corporate Law Institute. This conference is well-known and well-attended, and hosts a variety of interesting speakers and events. It is held downtown, and there are social events in the French Quarter. One of the best aspects about it is that it is a great opportunity to network with both local and non-local business people, and of course to network with the movers and shakers of the industry is always a plus. Hope this helps.
