Job opportunity for LLM holding green card?

BellaL

I am going to immigrate to US with my family next year and thinking of perusing an LLM in either corporate governance or cyber law. I got both Bachelor and Master degree in law in my home country but I was not on the legal path after graduation. My 5 year previous experiences were all about corporate policy & strategy work in an IT company.
Id seek advice that:
Is LLM a value added for me to find a job in US? (Im already 29 so I think I can hardly afford a 3 year JD to go back to legal career and compete with young elites. I would target international NGO, corporate, firm, or any possible placements. )
Thank you so much!

I disagree. If I recall correctly, since the OP has already said she has a bachelor law degree from her own country, this coupled with a US LLM would qualify her to take the NY bar at the very least.

Bella:
THe general consensus on this board is that it is very hard to get hired as a lawyer as a LLM. How about Northwestern's 2 year JD. It's just one extra year over that of a LLM. Furthermore, since the median age for US law school first years is around 25, the young bucks 1st yr associates with be around 29-30!

Private Equity:

You have previously stated that an MBA is desirable in the business world especially for lawyers. Considering your expertise, do you know whether Msc Management (i.e. MBA degrees minus the work requirement) degrees are regarded in the same way? MBA is not an option for me, as I jumped straight to the Masters after my bachelor degree.

I'm currently pursuing an academic career, but - true to the stereotypical perception associated with my nationality - I am driven to formulate a back up plan in case my academic aspirations don't pan out. I was thinking of either applying for a degree from Imperial or Warwick, but they seem rather expensive. Are Msc Management degrees worth it career wise or are they just a scam to drain money from students?

Thanks for the advice.

However, to be realistic I think Oxbridge and probably LSE are out of my range. Last year, I read posts of LSE declining individuals with Firsts for Law and Accounting.

Currently, I'm looking at 2nd tier universities outside the Oxbridge and LSE band since I only have a high 2.1 (my undergraduate university - which is a non-uk university - is unbelievably stingy with Firsts giving only 6 in a class of 250; it is however a reputable university with a decent world ranking). So the more likely choices for me currently are Warwick, Imperial, Cass and Bath. SOAS has an interesting program in law and finance but I'm not sure whether it'll just be a waste of money because its reputation doesn't seem to be on par with either warwick or imperial. If you know of any more please let me know.

Thanks Private Equity and Interalia for your opinions!
I would take JD transfer into consideration - unfortunately I didnt win LSAT due to lack of preparation this June :( 
As I will move to CA, to my knowledge a 4 year foreign university law degree plus one year LLM qualify California BAR. Do you have any knowledge on this? And if not, is NY bar recognized in CA market? I know CA bar might be the hardest among all the states, while I would give a try if Im eligible after LLM.
