Hi,
I want to do JD with a goal of doing public service but not as elected official. Any ideas about what are some of the areas I can work in and which are good schools for those. Thanks a lot and God bless.

Good ideas. Only recently I happened to attend a lecture delivered by a Commissioner from the office of Federal Election Commissioner. She extolled the law students the keep in mind public service also as one of their career goals.
You may choose to work of Not-profit organsiations like Institute of Justice; There are State government institutes/departments also offering legal services for the poor. Besides, there is a good scope for pro bono work.
All the schools are good for this purpose. You may decide about the location you want to stay and then choose the school.
