Hi everyone!
I'm on a roll here and was wondering about gettin a job (minor law-related/non-law related) during my LLM year. I've never been to the US and I don't really know how to go about it... getting a job, that is. (pls note, I'm not talking about getting a job as counsel/associate with the LLM... just some small job to keep the cash flow going) I know that visa restrictions will limit one to a certain no. of hrs of work a week/month... Do you just stroll about the neighbourhood and see if there are vacancies? What do you do???
Thnx in advance!

Hyugo,
I think that you should initially talk to the school, in which you are going to get your LL.M. I am sure that they are the major employers for the student market. Harvard, for example provides LLMs with the opportunity to work on campus as part of the program for the financing of education. I also think that to work as a research assistant for one of the famous professors is much more fascinating than to serve hotdogs at night, even if the second provides you with a larger cash flow. :)))

Thanks for a swift reply. I guess that makes good sense. It just seems a bit odd to leave the job of findin a job4 u in the school's hands. I hope that works though.
If any1 has any more thots on the subject, would appreciate it.
Thanx.
