Thank you,

I have applied to Columbia, Chicago, NYU, Berkely, USC gould, NWU and Emory. I have received acceptance from USC gould, Emory and NWU, have been denied an acceptance into Chicago, have yet to receive a decision form the rest....
I completed my LL.B in 2014 and I currently work as an in-house for a public limited company.
Can you please share information about your profile too, and do you have any knowledge as to when the decisions for the others might be out?

Congrats again! NWU particularly is a fine law school...am a 3+ PQE lawyer, working with a corp law firm in mumbai, with focus on corp/ M&A/ PE. applied to columbia, UPenn (got deferred to reg cycle), chicago (waitlisted), harvard, NYU and stanford. while Upenn could finalise the reg cycle by end of Feb, the earliest of others i'd guess would be around mid march (harvard mostly is 3rd monday of march, i.e. 16 march, as also columbia and NYU). chicago may also be around mid march for the waitlisted, although this could go on until even may depending on rejections from admitted applicants...stanford has an unpredictable system - any time between Feb end and April...

Congrats too you too!! I hope you get into the Harvard, or whichever is your first choice. I got a straight on rejection from Chicago, I did not apply to the top 3, I was certain I would not get in....but I was very surprised and extremely happy when I was accepted into NWU.
Please do let me know as and when you hear from them, I shall do the same.
I currently work in Bangalore.

Thanks, will do. Again, NWU is a very fine law school, have couple of friends who just graduated from NWU and they were absolutely delighted with the experience - one of them landed up with a job as well so way to go.. Good luck with your other apps too.

Cheers.

All admitted Indian students to various law schools in the US are requested to share their profiles, areas of interest and other experiences they may want to share. Also, those who are spoilt for choice already, what universities are you looking forward to amongst such choices/ other universities.

Thanks.

Have you guys started worrying about funding yet? I know forms are out for INLAKS and so on. What other schols?

Hi inki,

Thanks for the info. And congratulations on UPenn!

The inlaks requires specifying the university to which one is accepted, and therefore only once the acceptances come in will we be able to submit the app. Now that you have an acceptance you will be able to proceed for submission. Having said that, agree that it's desirable to keep the scholarship form ready with other details to the extent they are available. Any other scholarships that you know that have become available?

Thanks.

I know someone who got her Columbia offer a few weeks ago (no scholarship) but haven't heard about anyone getting offers from NYU/Columbia. Strange.

I think the Tata scholarships just closed but the travel grant app is still open. And i think Pirjsha Godrej has something but you have to go to their office to discuss it.

I actually didn't apply for Tata for the very reason that the scholarship apps are harder to fill than the university apps. They want attested copies of certificates of all extra-curricular activities. That kind of documentation is quite painful to arrange for. Similar situations for several other scholarships. Like the American Alumni Association scholarship. Hard to motivate yourself to organize all those documents for a 1L loan scholarship.

Sorry about the multiple posts. But the Aga Khan scholarship forms are available from the 16th and have to be submitted on the 20th. But they give you half the amount as a gift and the other half as an interest free loan.

Hi, so from what I understand Aga Khan is only for people who are already graduates and not people who are in the final year of their study? Am i right? Will be glad if someone could clarify.

I think if you look at Aga Khan's selection criteria, it clearly states that 'applicants are expected to have a few years of experience in their field of study'. Therefore, I am assuming yes in response to your question. Why don't you email them?
