Hi every one
I am lawyer in Korea
I was trying to pass 100 iBT but i couldn't make it.only 96
So I sent e-mail to admission officer if they can accep my application.
Some school answered that they will accep or they need minimum requirement.
My question is that
1. Can I apply to the school that didn't answer?
2. Can I apply to the school that answered they need 100?
Please answer my question. I don't have much time to apply. Thank you.

I think that you should apply for the university that they didn't answer but you should not apply for the university that they said that they will reject your application.
I heard that some Top20 law school relax the TOEFL requirement if you get around 98-99.

UCLA asks for 96, and I am sure that some top 30 universities (specially between 15 -30) will accept you if you have good credentials.

UCLA ask for 96 for other departments in the university, They say that for law school they require at least 100 on the IBT.

As UCLA is my top choice, id like to second to isradv and jenny's argument that they are both right in a sense that:
"In general we expect a score of 600 on the paper-based test, 250 on the computer-based test, or 100 on the Internet-based test, although an outstanding applicant with a slightly lower test score will not be disqualified on this basis."

Who knows you can't be admitted if you got good credentials but the TOEFL score is just a little bit below the requirement?
Apply quick before the February 1 2009 deadline.

Dear Isradv
in their website they state that the minimun is 96 POINTS IBT
"For this reason, the TOEFL... is required of foreign applicants.. A TOEFL score of 590 on the paper-based test, 243 on the computer-based test, or 96 on the Internet-based test is the minimum score accepted by the University's Graduate Division. The Law School usually admits only applicants whose TOEFL scores are well above the minimum range required by the University. In general we expect a score of 600 on the paper-based test, 250 on the computer-based test, or 100 on the Internet-based test, although an outstanding applicant with a slightly lower test score will not be disqualified on this basis."
If you read the paragraph, it could be inferred that 96 is the minimum required score, although most of the students have at least 100; moreover, they say that a lower score (and in this part I don't know if is lower than 100 or 96) will not be disqualified.
They USUALLY ADMIT STUDENTS WITH MORE THAN 100, BUT THE MINIMUM IS 96, and a lower score will not disqualify you automatichaly.
Since I have more than 100 I don't have that problem and didn't investigate too much, but for me, the minimum is 96.

good for you...
so everyone seems to agree with the idea that the higher iBT score you got, the better chance you have to be admitted in the LL.M. programs?
I believe that Letters of Recommendation somehow play a more importance role than TOEFL does...but it still depends on schools' attitudes so (if you apply for Yale, LOR really has great influence)
