Could anyone please advice whether Columbia will give an offer to someone who already hold an LLM degree in the UK?

Does anyone going for the CLS Class of 2009-10 already received the LLM from Europe or US? My understanding is that they won't accept someone who already hold an LLM from the US, but UK is fine. However, I have heard that LLM from UK will disqualify the applicant as well.

I would appreciate if anyone can let me know the fact or share your experiences. THANK YOU!!

There's no bar to foreign LLMs in most US universities, including CLS. The (informal) bar only relates to US-based LLMs. Hope that helps! :)

I know someone (Latin American) that had an European LLM Degree and was admitted at CLS but this was years ago...

I can confirm that a LLM from another country does not disqualify you for CLS. Only another US LLM would do so.

CLS did admit people with oxbride postgraduate diplomas (as of 2007 - direct knowledge). However, I don't know whether CLS has a cap or some kind of policy regarding the number of such candidates to admit.
