Hey guys,
I was wondering if any of you can help me find out how to prove that I'm particularly interested in a field of study. So far, I have relatively good credentials for applying for LLM in international law (I have done international moot courts - been to semi-finals in BCC in Vienna 2010 and am preparing to go to Jessup in Washington). Recently I feel more attracted to corporate and business law, but in my past I have only once won a written competition in that area (plus I have worked in corporate law firms as intern and paralegal). Do you guys think this is enough or I need to strenthen my credentials in the area?
Has any of you been accepted in a field of study only on the basis of strong desire to work it although your experience had been in another area?
Thanks in advance

You have probably seen this, but Columbia's webpage expressly says that "It [The LL.M. Program] is an opportunity for our students to specialize in fields not fully covered in their previous law work." Hope this helps.
