How nervous are you ?

Chang

Well, ladies & gentlemen, today is March 8, were all getting more and more nervous here, as we can hear about others getting accepted in some of the most prestigious law schools in the world.

And Yale, Stanford, Harvard did not even release (most of) their decisions yet

So lets calm down, drink a beer and rank how nervous you are currently (say, on a scale of 100)!

Personally, Im a little more nuts than usual: opening my mailbox in the morning AND the evening, watching my emails and this site all the time, looking for a FedEx car in the street (but it can be a UPS too!); so Id say I got now an evil 66,6% (good Lord).

What about you guys?

No, actually, not to my knowledge. I've just read a post (like you! :-)) of someone getting in SLS (true?), that's why I then wrote "most of their decisions" in my post...

So... You got at least a 75% Indian Lawyer! :-) Iw ish you good luck anyway.

As I am full time writing 2 papers since last week, my mailbox is open during the whole day, and every time I get a new email, I want to check it immediately... says enough, doesn't it?

Thanks, Busingye...

I and my friends here at the office had some real fun with that tune ). They are familiar with how my morning starts daily and want me to listen to it whole the day:
first - mailbox (including mailboxes of others in case of any mistake),
then - email,
then - LLM guide,
then - designation of lack of any news and presence of good news for at least someone at the forum
then - nervousness and confusion, waiting for a courier.

I think we are nearly the same here.
Close to the insanity with nescience and waiting for any news bad or good... but still not insane)))
I bet 50-80 % for me, depending on the forum news and the day of the week.

I can totally relate to Alexei's account of how his day begins.
I think I'm a solid 85 on the Chang scale. I share my work area with a colleague and he has been a patient witness to my daily ranting (about the seemingly endless wait). Still, I don't think he can really appreciate the depths of my despair at this point. Hehe, sorry for being so dramatic. As misery (and nerve-wracking anticipation) really loves company, my thanks, you guys.

Love that post ...I would say yesterday and all the days before I Was a high 75/85 (90 would have said my friends!) on the Chang Scale: checking my emails 30 times a day at least, yes friends !!! 30 F**** Times !! you know why? Because Im stuck at home ill til mondayyyyy so I have nothing else to do than getting more and more nervous....
BUT today I gat the guy from UPS who rang at my door with that NYU package and who told me "oh my god, i have to deliver that package before or at 10:30am or I get penalties and its 10:38..." ...and I looked at the cover of the package saw "welcome to admitted students"
Now Im only waiting for Columbia, last Law school I applied to, so I would say TODAY, it would be only a 30 on the Chang Scale !! :-)

Lucinda, congrats on receiving your papers...

At least you have your admission to NY, I still have nothing from them. So, the more admissions are sent the bigger my nervousness on the Chang's scale is.

Email, I have an auto notification of the new incoming messages, and as far as emails from USA come when it's night here in Moscow, the most stressful moment is when I switch on my computer in the morning. At that moment it's close to 80 ).

Good luck to all waiting!

No worries about the Chang scale! I can assure you the Chang scale is very flexible. I measured myself 120% once.
It was when I saw that I had received an email from ucla...

thx Busingye, I love that song. It's my favorite opera with Nabucco's Chorus of the hebrew slaves.
After reading and re-reading posts stating people are admitted all over the place, I couldn't help calling some LS. And the results are...
NYU : my application (for the LLM in general studies) is complete but still under review. A decision will be made at the beginning of April! Bad sign ? So, I got a good 70 on ""my"" scale ;-)
Then I called HLS, and this will be also interesting for you guys: decisions will be made March 21st !! And they will be sent that by regular mail, not by email. BUT you will be able to call them (they'll ask you some personal info, of course) the 21st of later (if you can actually have them on the phone!). Before talking to that girl, I had a nice 75%.
I will call some other law schools and let you know what's going on folks...
Cheers and keep cool! :-)

Hey Chang - so will HLS send out all mails - acceptances & rejections & waitlist (if any) on 21 March to all parts of the world??? In todays e-age I cant believe a place such as HLS would do something like this - I simply cant understand the rationale behind it- sending out an email is (a) cheap (b) avoids unnecessary tension for applicants (c) avoids delays in communication of decision (what happens if the mail gets lost in transit or the person isnt at home or something) ---- why, why, why is it done??? Lord help me I need strength

Hey! What's up till yesterday ? ;-)
I totally agree with you. But there was no misunderstanding (I asked for it twice). It's maybe because of what I happened last year (look at the "magic email" story in last year's posts), but this is only an hypothesis...

Chang,

When I gave a call to NY, I definitely had 100 points!
They gave me the same answer as you have, but I was told that decisions are mailed as they are made.
Now - begining of April.... it means that at the begining of April we'll again have an every day UPS stress as we already had.

Get ready and wait )
