Right around Vandy is expensive. 20th & Grand is right across the street and is $1200/month. If you walk a few blocks, Americana is not too bad ($600-$700, I think). There is also the Barbizon next to the law school that isn't too bad, and a lot of llms stay there. Not sure how much it is though.

I live in west Nashville and have about 1000 sq. ft. apartment on the river for only $500/month. But, you have to have a vehicle or take the bus.

All depends on what you want.

Thank you so much for your tips! I will follow your clues! Besides, how would you say about the security issue around vandy?

Many thanks for that!!

I never hear about much crime to be quite honest. When I first visited vandy, a friend and I were walking around the streets at 1 in the morning and nobody ever messed with us. fwiw.

which part of nashville would you consider most liveliest? ive always lived in a city and would rather be in a more dynamic area with lots of activities.

ive got a feeling that west end/hillsboro area is probably the best altho it seems to be relatively expensive there so im also considering bellevue area which is much cheaper but its still approx. $600..or should i look further away?

Sdevante, your advice is always much appreciated :)

which part of nashville would you consider most liveliest?:)

West End is nice with lots going on, as is Hillsboro Village and south towards Green Hills. Those areas are a bit expensive though.

Downtown has lofts right above Broadway, Church, Commerce, and all the other main night life spots. Those are VERY expensive.

West Nashville towards White Bridge Road and beyond, where I live, isn't that lively.

East Nashville is generally ghetto, however, there is an area called Five Points that is very young and happening and I don't believe the rents are too high in that region and it is generally safe, just don't venture too far east beyond five points is my understanding.
