HELP! Best time to apply - Rolling admissions

Lawbug2015

Hello everyone,
Can anyone help me with deciding what is the best time to apply for colleges who accept admissions on a rolling basis? My transcripts are still in the evaluation phase and my recommenders are yet to send the letters. Is it late considering that admissions opened in September, although official deadlines are till January?

You're still on time!. The idea is that you send everything as soon as possible, before the deadlines but not so close. I mean, if you send everything by the first week December and the deadline is by January, it's totally fine. I'm going to do that, actually.

It depends on the admission process adopted by the different schools, but generally speaking I would say that the earliest you apply the better it is, also if you want to be considered for scholarship.

Thank you!
However my recommendations and transcripts will take time so no matter how much I want I think I will be cutting the deadlines close. :/ Can you tell me which colleges generally prefer earliest applicants? I'm applying to Chicago, Ann Arbor, UPenn, NYU and Cornell and Northwestern.

Lawbug2015, I believe you can already file the application through LSAC and complete it at a later time. Of course, the law schools will not review incomplete applications, but they will know you are interested in their programs and you will start building a relationship with them.

UPenn Nov 15 (early notifications) & Dec 15
NYU December 15 for Internationals
Cornell Dec 15
Northwestern January 15, although further deadlines apply for interviews & LLM in Tax: June 01.
You should register with LSAC 4-6 weeks prior your first application deadline.
Good Luck!
