Harvard LLM 2024-2025

Just some questions about my academics / transcripts.

Hi everyone
Just received an email from harvard grad office, anyone else? They had some questions about my application material. Checked the application webpage now and the checklist is completed (all documents received). Impressed how fast they were, given I submitted everything on the deadline

Sounds great!! What did they ask you about?
My application webpage says all documents received :) but I didn't get any email from them.

My application checklist still says awaiting transcripts. I had decided it email the transcripts although I sent it on Nov 29 and the complete application on Dec 1. Should I be expecting an email from Harvard?

I don't think they are contacting all applicants. I haven't been contacted, and my checklist shows all documents received. (I emailed my transcripts as well.) Does your checklist now show "received"?

I also received an email yesterday requesting for clarification on transcripts. My checklist of required items was marked complete on 12/1, so I'm guessing the Admissions Committee has started going through complete applications.

That's a good news that they seem to have started their assessment. What kinda clarification were they seeking, if you don't mind sharing in this forum?

Pretty sure doesnt mean much. Looks like they are making sure that all documents are completed before moving foward with the actual analysis....Regardless, always happy to hear from them!

I got an email for missing transcripts. Basically, they asked me to ignore it as I've already sent the transcripts by mail.

Also, as I sent it after 11/15, they said it'll probably take two months to reflect on the checklist and not to mail them about it.

looks strong to me. Stronger than mine for sure lol. Harvard puts a lot of weight on publications and academia, so I think you are you have what they are probably looking for (excellence in academics + publications).
However, in the end no one can really tell. My advice is to relax and wait for their decisions without overthinking too much. While harvard is indeed a great university I believe that there are lots of equally prestigious universities out there.

good luck!

Dear All,
Happy to connect :) - Did you send your transcripts via LSAC? I sent them through the platform but the website says they have not been received so far. I'm just wondering why.
Many thanks,
Carlo

I sent mine directly to the admissions office by email.
I heard LSAC could take from weeks to months depending on when you sent them. Might be best to check with LSAC. Good luck.

My first publication was published this week in a national law review (the nr1 in constitutional law). Do you guys think it is worth notifying the admissions committee?

Dear fellows I wish you luck to all of you, God´s Willing, looking forward to meet you in person at Harvard Law School LLM after our admission!
I am eager to know people as me in the class, to improve our world through law!

I was wondering, whether the Harvard´s LLM admission committee would consider beneficial from an applicant the following facts:
-To be a winner of university, national and regional international research contests.
- Start lecturing (law teaching) shortly after graduation.
- Getting a LLB GPA of 10.00/10.00 (My country's grading scale?)
- Pro bono experience.
BUT do not fulfilling a toefl subscore.

what do you think?

I'm in a similar situation. I got a 23 in the writing subsection, but got 28-30 in the rest of the subsections. Likewise, I, too, have won research contests, have three publications, graduated with honors, was in the top 10% of my class, won an International MOOT and national debate contest, and have three years of work experience in the Constitutional Tribunal of my country. To be honest, I'm not worried about not fulfilling the toefl subscore, because the instructions clearly state that if you don't comply with the required score you can be in a less convenient position in comparison with the rest of the applicants; nevertheless, this kind of processes hold a holistic view, so if you have a strong application, which I believe you do, you still have a chance to get admitted.

By the way, I was going through the discussions of previous years and applicants with scores slightly below the required threshold of 25 got in.

Thanks for your response mate! Hopefully we can meet together in the llm class at HLS, I am extremely confident about the rest of my application, but the speaking subscore is the only little issue with it, due to the fact is 19 score. I cannot tell if there is a slightly below subscore. What do you think?

I am only applying to Harvard due to they only have the clinics, professors, and subjects I need to thrive both academically and professionally. So I may be reapplying until getting into.
