hi all...
I am a prospective for this season's LLM. I have an offer from CLS and another from NYU. I am looking to expedite HLS now as the CLS deadline is near and I am worried it might be too late before HLS gets back...
gpadmit/ llmquery...
Can anyone confirm the Email to report an expedite request?
Thanks a lot...

I think gpquery@law.harvard.edu is the one that you'll need to use. Do not be surprised if your request is denied. Although I have not made a request, others on this board have and have not been granted expedited consideration. Please let us know if you do make an expedite request and if it's granted or denied. Good luck!

hey thanks a lot..:) I know its a bit of a long shot.. but have nothing to lose since HLS itself solicited requests in the event that applicants faced deadlines...At least a best endeavour obligation is incumbent upon it..
Lets hope they respond (with positive results, I hope :))
Will keep you guys posted...thanks a lot for this again...

Very true. Hopefully you will be given expedited consideration!

I called HLS today and they said that I should send an email to the address listed above and that they will get back to me by my deadline (I was also requested to attach the file I got from NYU). Of course, I can't be sure if they are actually gonna communicate their decision by then, but it's definitely worth giving a shot.
I keep my fingers crossed... :)

Thanks for this beda. I am mailing them my request mail today. Whats your deadline with NYU by the way..? and did you receive any aid (got through NYU too, I, without any aid though)....

I was also accepted at CLS and NYU.
As a matter of fact, HLS accept to consider your request if you send them an email about it. But the bottom line here is that at the end of the day, they answer you in a very polite manner and after some brief considerations, they suggest you to accept other offers since there is no possible to anticipate decisions considering the number of applicants they have received this year.
Behind the scenes, I was told this year is by far the most competitive year ever. Don't take any chances here, if you were admitted in NYU with scholarship go get it. I did it, so see you there in september. Good luck with that.

Have you withdrawn from HLS then, if you've already accepted elsewhere?

Update:/...
Mailed them..:)
On the first take, got their auto-reply...but the auto-reply had a residuary clause that said, in the event you have any other query than the ones they listed therein, I was to contact them wih a return mail on that same account,,,...
Did that (EMailed the same request by return mail and now waiting)..
Having said that they should follow the CLS/YLS way and convey in the Auto-reply itself that they will respond if there is any query other than the ones specified..
Thats so much better than this duplication..

L&E, very best of luck with your expedite request. I imagine most decisions would be made by now so hopefully it is close enough to them releasing decisions to grant.
You also applied to Yale, no? Any word from them? (I didn't apply there, but am curious.) I think it is odd that HLS/YLS seem willing to lose good candidates to Columbia or NYU for the sake of a week or two. Maybe the decisions are made over a very short, intensive review period in late February/early March.

Since they follow this procedure like forever, I don't think they feel as if they'd lose good candidates. They just could feel happy that a few good of all the good applicants are withdrawing...

Yes, you are right. Of the circa 1,500 applications they receive probably at least half/ 2/3rds are real strong contenders (though I think a surprising number of people do apply when they have no chance of getting in). I doubt it's much skin off their nose if a few of those applicants end up diverting to CLS or NYU.
I guess they'd probably expedite if anyone had received admission from YLS, but it seems they issue decisions about the same time. I've read through this board pretty thoroughly and can't find anyone who was successful in requesting expedited consideration, but perhaps HLS asks applicants to keep it quiet until the 'formal' notification day if it is granted to prevent a flood of enquiries from other applicants.

Thanks for this beda. I am mailing them my request mail today. Whats your deadline with NYU by the way..? and did you receive any aid (got through NYU too, I, without any aid though)....
I only applied to NYU and HLS. NYU, although not asked for any financial aid, granted a half-tuition Dean's Award. My deadline is March 9, as I think for most of the people.

You did not ask for any money and they gave you 20k$?

Yeah, that's right. I like them already :)

In light of your scholarship offer, you should accept the offer at NYU and withdraw from consideration at HLS. Have you requested expedited consideration from HLS? It is highly unlikely it will be granted to you, based on prior posts from others. Withdrawal is in your best interest as well as other applicants.

Hello All! I have been following this page for weeks and the info you guys give is amzing!! i have an offer from nyu and with a deadline of march 11 with a measly 10k though that wont suffice at all!! got thru georgetown law but they gave two others also but they didnt give me a penny :(
i called up HLS and a very polite lady told me to accept my nyu offer if i had an nyu deadline, and a bit forcefully i thought. actually she was pretty sure of herself so i guess my hls trip is over. i am still waiting for a rejection mail though ((

Did you give your name to HLS or just ask generally for expedited consideration? If you did give your name, then I'd suggest that you take the advice given and accept the NYU offer. Right now you have an NYU offer + 10K versus nothing from HLS and what you describe as a "forceful" recommendation to go with NYU. Go with what's certain and withdraw from HLS. That way you will avoid a rejection and will be able to pursue the program you wanted at NYU.

Supranote1, just wondering where you applied? You only applied to one school, right?
