When preparing application docs, have you ever been required to write some statement describing education system in your previous universities (e.g. absence of class ranking, "1" to "5" grading scale and etc), do you have such experience? it seems that in CIS we have similar grades.

I guess you are not required to do so but you should prepare such statement in order to explain your grades. Personally, I wrote a couple of sentenses to the effect that we do not have ranking and do not calculate GPA and what it takes to get a diploma with honors and what would be my approximate GPA if calculated based on 1-4 scale.

Can you email me the article you were telling the other guy about? I'm finishing up the 3rd year of my JD this May (in the US) and am thinking of practicing in Russia, being fluent and all. Will my degree be worth anything there?
