Harvard 2020-2021

Interesting. I remember reading that they do provide indications in case of competing deadlines. Does their response to you mean that they haven’t progressed too far in the application review process at this time?
you can see above that they have requested an additional document from an applicant last week. Isn't this a strong indication that we will be getting decisions around late March?

I don't think so (definitely hope not). As per previous trends, they still have more than 10 days to release results.

Columbia said "late December" too for early review applicants and released decisions in the middle of the month. You never know what Harvard may do either. They seem to have always had a trend of releasing decisions between 15th to 17th, so let's hope they do that again. A lot of us are entirely waiting for Harvard's decision before accepting other offers.

[quote][quote][quote][quote]Sent them an email about a non extendable offer deadline and the possibility of an indication. Got this response:

Thank you for your email and for sharing this news with us.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide you with a definitive answer about your LL.M. application at this time. Harvard Law School has a very rigorous admissions process requiring that each successful application be approved only after a careful evaluation process by a committee of experienced staff and faculty. Yes, however it is relevant to note that person was still in his final year of education. Thus, while submitting his transcripts he did not have the ones of his on-going semester. So its only logical they ask him about it. I dont think it will have an impact on the timelines.

I might be reading too much into their response, but it seems to me that they kinda did. It looked like that this person's application at least progressed to later stages of the admissions process. What do you think?

I think Harvard will most likely release decisions by the end of next week. I also think that the fact that they asked for a transcript from one student does not mean they are lost in the process. In addition they also emailed us that they are in the right track and within their normal schedule of evaluating applications.

I would be truly surprised if they hand out decisions by the end of March.

I fully agree with @JConstantine. I too think they won't take until the END of March. They would get back to us by the end of next week, or the beginning of the third week of March. :-P :P

I was ok until it hit March. I felt March was so far away when I sent in my application, but here we are in what seems like a blink of an eye. Now I’m anxious and nervous! Agonising.

Best of luck to you all!

Anyone apply Frank Knox?

Yeah I applied and luckily have been offered the UK Fellowship, on the proviso that I get accepted into HLS. Not sure what that does for my chances of general admittance but I'm a mess at the minute. Definitely drunk the Kool-Aid...just want to know now. Best of luck everyone

Anyone apply Frank Knox?

I did, but I'm an idiot and sent the wrong essay to them.
I'm not holding out much hope for admission.

I’m sorry! :( to Harvard?

Does anyone know the relationship between the processes for in-country comps and at Harvard? Ie if your country selects you is it just a question of getting admitted?

From what I understand, some scholarships are offered in conjunction with Harvard (Frank Knox for example). Upon receipt of an offer of scholarship, Harvard notifies the relevant graduate school but your acceptance is not guaranteed and I don't know what weight, if any, this gives their application. Other scholarships, not managed by Harvard, may also notify the university/graduate school of their choices but I'm not sure what effect this has on general admittance. Not much info on any if this sadly. Again, good luck!

It holds no weight to admission. Frank Knox for example do not even tell Harvard that you’ve been offered.

I sent the wrong essay to Frank Knox, but in general I'm not too confident with any of my applications to be completely honest.

My understanding is that if you get something like the Frank Knox fellowship, it's indicative (though not a guarantee) of admission as they have a similar selection criteria.

Yeah I no it no weight in admission but I mean more like: if you get admitted, do you automatically get frank Knox if selected by country? Or does Harvard scholarship committee do another selection?

Anyone else from US apply on this thread? I know HLS's program is aimed more toward international students, but hopefully still have a shot as I want to teach.
