I have been accepted to the graduate tax program at both GULC and UF. I am conflicted over which school to attend. I am a Florida resident, so my tuition at UF would be 20k versus 80k at Georgetown. However, it seems as though the course selection at UF is pretty limited, while GULC offers a lot of difference classes. Also, the ivy league status and the D.C. atmosphere appeal to me.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!

NYU GULC and UF are all not Ivy league. And it should not be taken into consideration anyway. They are equal I think. Although selection of courses is limited at UF the quality is higher here I think. GULC attracts army of adjuncts that teach all these subjects. I don't think they all have a perfect methodology to teach. For me its quantity vs quality. And studying more general tax courses would allow you to be more flexible. You can go for corporate tax than switch to estate planning or international tax. In GULC the subjects are more specific so you'll be stuck with one area. You may very well go out of the program not as a tax lawyer but as a professional of specific area of tax. This can be both advantage and disadvantage. Think if you know exactly what you want and where do you want to work and make your decision.

I'm also debating between Georgetown and Florida. I've searched past threads but still am in between both schools. Being from the south, I don't see myself living/working in NY/DC after the program. Also the Dean I work for attended Florida for his LL.M. in Tax, despite being accepted to the top 3, and he is highly encouraging me to attend as well. Lower tuition, lower cost of living, and higher quality and more in-depth course with a full-time LL.M. faculty are a few reasons why I am leaning more towards Florida. Still on the fence though, so any advice or experience anyone has will definitely be helpful. Thanks in advance!

I just got into UF. Acceptance letter received today.
Although I am leaning towards GULC (still waiting for NYU's decision) the cost is a huge factor for me... UF is a also a great tax academy.

I think you answered your own question: "Lower tuition, lower cost of living, and higher quality and more in-depth course with a full-time LL.M. faculty are a few reasons why I am leaning more towards Florida."
The three schools are all highly regarded and for most, Florida is the best choice for the reasons you mentioned. Full-time faculty is a huge factor. So is cost of living and cost of tuition for most people.

If you are considering tax, US News & World Report ranks them:
#1 - NYU
#2 - UF
#3 - GULC
Cost is much less in Florida--tuition & living expenses.
Good luck.
