Georgetown Rejections?

Mbuck

My application to Georgetown's Tax LL.M. program was complete in late November and today my status changed from "complete" to "decision." As all I have seen are posts from people who have been accepted into Georgetown, I was wondering if anyone who has applied to Georgetown LL.M. has received a rejection letter at this point? I'd really appreciate any info. Thanks.

Hi Mbuck, dont worry as of now. Right now only people who hav been admitted in the early cycle are being sent admission offer letters. Any one not selected rt now would be considered for the regular cycle and decisions in that cycle are given out till March-April.

I just called GULC LL.M. Admissions and asked if someone who receives a Rejection during Early Admissions is still considered again when the committee reviews applications during Regular Action... the answer is "NO"

hi Mbuck

it seems no rejection letter has been reported so far....

when GULC said "NO", did they mean

1) they would not issue "rejection letter" to the early action applicants at all, or

2) they would issue "rejection" and those who recieve the "rejection" would not be considered again in the regular cycle?

In addition, I am a bit curious....GULC announced that they would send "decisions" out to applicants on Dec 12, why did some people's stutus change to "decision" only today?

They meant #2 - once you're rejected that's it, you are not reconsidered again with the regular action admissions process.

Don't you want to consider a LLM program at other schools?
I think that the deadline at the law school at GWU is March 1. GWU L. School is a pretty good school, is not it? You still have time to appy there..

honestly, i think you're golden. the early action application deadline for us applicants hasnt even passed yet (it's jan 5th). i find it hard to believe g-town is denying applicants before the deadline has expired. conversely, it makes sense the school is admitting highly qualified applicants at this point.

furthermore, g-town promised a decision by jan 30th. it's still december. my guess is that you're in like flynn.
