Conglatulations! When did you apply?

Hello everybody! Does anybody have any news regarding Georgetown's scholarships?
Posted Jan 21, 2014 00:09
For international students? Haven't received any news from my end.

Hey!! I also received an email asking me to sign up for a skype interview with the admission commitee. Have you already done it? Do you know what kind of questions are they asking? Thanks for your answers!!
Posted Jan 22, 2014 06:51
Hey, mitchllm. Perhaps the committee will be interested to know more about your background, qualifications and purpose (e.g., how you intend to make use of the degree). All the best with your interview!
Posted Jan 24, 2014 10:51
Congratulations to those admitted. I assume that you applied for the regular action deadline?
Posted Jan 25, 2014 02:44
I received Dean William Treanor's welcome letter by email today.

Congratulations KJP!! Are you going to accept or are you waiting to hear from other schools?
By the way, do you mind sharing some information with the rest of the board? For example, for what program did you apply at GULC? What is your law school background (e.g., school rank, class rank, etc.)? Are you right out of law school or have you been practicing?
Any advice for those still waiting?
My experience is that admissions decisions tend to come later in the week--usually Thursdays or Fridays, so yours was right in line with that.
Again, congrats.

Thanks, CSJTax!
Here are my application details (Early Action):
Completed 11/12
Under Review 12/09
Accepted 12/11 (EST)
I received the admissions letter/package on 12/16. I suppose the Dean's letter constitutes the offer-I-can't-refuse.
I applied for the National Security Law LL.M. Program with an International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Certificate. I've been dead set on NSL. Like you, I applied only to Georgetown. I never entertained any other option. I will accept/enroll in due course.
I graduated from law school in 2005 and I've been practicing since 2006.

Hey.
I received the Dean's letter too. It is quite similar to the one we got during admissions.
I was wondering whether we should reply to it? I mean, I have not exactly made up my mind yet, but it sure feels odd to not reply when they have written such a thoughtful letter (even though every admitted student has probably got one).
Any advice?

Hey, Chinaman. I replied to the Dean's letter because I wanted to confirm my intention of enrolling in due course. But I think it would not hurt to reply, even if you have not made up your mind yet. At the very least, it would be good to acknowledge the thought that went into sending the letter. I hope you eventually decide to go to Georgetown.

Yeah, thanks. Think I will dash of a letter thanking them.
My decision is really contingent on aid you know. It seems like such a great institution! (plus thanks to LLMguide, I feel like I will already have friends when I get there). :)

That's true. Aid is very important. I hope we'll be able to get some our way in due time. The universe will conspire, as I would like to believe. Plus, the connections that began in this forum is already a motivation to attend Georgetown!

Hi everyone,
I sent my application last week and didn't receive any response from Georgetown yet. Will they email you to inform that they have received the application? Should I write a email to ask? Thank you.

Hi, Mitch123. You will receive an email from the Graduate Admissions Office confirming receipt of your application. They will also give you access to the Applicant Status Online system so you can track the progress of your application. Since the regular action deadline is fast approaching, I suppose they're receiving a great number of applications by this time. I'm sure you'll receive the email confirmation in a few days. If not, it would not hurt to email them to inquire about it. All the best!

Hey Mitch 123,
I had a similar problem and sent an email to llmadmis@law.georgetown.edu
They responded in 1 day providing my status check email containing a temporary log in.
Hope that works
