Any admission news around here?
I was told that our admission decisions are going to be informed through the local Fulbright offices. Were you told the same?

Same here - no decisions yet, communication goes through fulbright.

Hi,
I was admitted in Chicago, CLS and UCLA. Even though IIE sent my applications, the universities answerd me directly.
Any news from Yale or HLS?
best

Hey gyus,
I just spoke to the local fulbright program officer and she told me most decisions are usually expected in mid April. That seems a bit too late to me, because most schools have already started sending admission messages and scholarship offers. When do you expect your decisions?

Your admission decisions will be made together with the other applicants. So for example, if HLS makes admissions decisions today, even though you are a Fulbright Scholar, your decision will be made today.
The problem is that the Universities are not allowed to contact us directly, so they send the decisions to the local office, which in turn notify us.
At least that is how it works in my country.
Good luck!
H.

hotpursuit,
Thank you for the answer. It works the same way in my country. The law schools I am applying to have been sending admission decisions for two weeks, that's why mid April seems so late... Plus, the wait...

Had someone received any feedback from the local office, mine is so quiet and i am becoming a little bit anxious.
Have you ever heard of a Fulbright candidate rejected by ALL the 04 Universities?

Hi, I was admitted to Georgetown and UF, still waiting to hear from NYU and BU. Haven't decided yet.

Hello guys, have you all heard about your applications? I am still waiting for my notification,I wrote to the local embassy twice and they are telling me to be patient and wait since they have not heard from iie.
is that normal? I believe in all the universities the fall 2015 classes are now complete.
is someone else in this situation?

Hi willze,
I made my decision about a month ago. Got admitted to NYU, GT and UF and chose Florida because they gave me the best scholarship and a research assistantship (being ranked #2 for Tax Law and nice weather helped, too).
I'm sorry to hear you have no news yet, I guess it might work a bit differently in your country. My advice is to ask fulbright to double check with IIE about your university applications. There have been cases of huge delays (e.g. IIE has received an answer from unis, but did not send it to fulbright) in previous years in my country. Anyway, those are not that common and you should keep calm - from what I've heard, some unis send admission letters as late as June. Are you looking to start in Fall?
One more thing - it really depends on admissions offices of each university. For example, I got admitted to NYU and UF about a month later than most candidates, if that's any relief.
Good luck!

Hi bokzzz, congrats for your admission I think it's really different in my country because they didn't came to me about any submission plan so I'm not sure if they applied to my chosen universities , I wrote to the local embassy about that and they told me not to worry .
I wrote to them twice about the notification and they have the same answer " still waiting from IIE".
I'm looking to start this fall, plus the fact that I will have to plan the departure if I have to leave etc it's really worrying.
anyway I have no choice but to wait
