IMO uVA because of the amazing nature, extremely beautiful campus, great law & business program, etc.
Charlottesville is a very nice city, while Durham seems to be unappealing.

Besides everything, reputation is important. Years ago, when I didn't know so much about US schools, I had no idea about duke. However, I had heard the name of UVA numerous times. So, this is a crucial clue for reputation. The quality and the rankings are so obvious that you can find ant resources. And one factor is the location that makes the uva more logical choice. I hope it would be helpful.

I would not consider reputation as the crucial factor. Education at both law schools is equal. But life quality in charlottesville is much better than at Duke.

Hmm, I'd doubt that Duke's reputation falls back behind Virginia...
and I'd support what c.ronaldo has said...

I agree with you guys... However, in my case ( I am from South America) the situation is quite different... Duke has a strong reputation down here, better than UVA...

Hey
I'm from Australia, with an Asian background. Take from this what you will, and guys who are in favour of UVA, feel free to assume that I'm ignorant because I don't intend on offending anyone.
What I wanted to say is, before I started looking into applying for an LLM I had never heard of UVA. I was shocked to discover that it had such a good law school. I'm pretty sure none of my friends (who are mostly lawyers/bankers) had heard of UVA either. Duke, on the other hand, even though it is similarly ranked to UVA, most people have heard of and most have this impression that it is prestigious. Some of my friends even thought it was one of the Ivy League.
Personally, I think even if the UVA law school is marginally better than Duke, generally speaking, Duke University has a much better reputation than UVA and it is ranked higher as well (if you look at overall rankings).
I wouldn't let location matter too much. We are only there for about 10 months. Besides, I have an American friend who said she visited her friends when they were at Duke Law and she absolutely loved the place.
That's just my 2c worth.

I don't agree. Location and weather are very important! It will influence your mood and your grades.
