Corporate LLM NYU or Cambridge?

Hi!

I am practising corporate law in Pakistan. I have every intention of returning to Pakistan to continue my practise after completing an LLM.

Is the Cambridge LLM better suited for corporate legal practise or the NYU LLM? Strictly in terms of which programme offers the most instruction and guidance for corporate legal practise?

I'm asking because the NYU LLM programme seems much more practically useful than the Cambridge LLM programme for pursuing corporate law and I'd really appreciate a second opinion.

Cambridge is one of those schools that you cannot go wrong with. Very strong academics, highly selective and basically one of the best brands you can have in your resumé. That said, for what I know, your impression is correct in the sense that NYUs programme is known to be more practical than Cambridge’s. Being in NYC is also a plus in terms of close contact with firms, speakers and all around corporate Law practice.

Have you considered Columbia? May be a good balance between the practical approach and brand recognition of the other two.
