Would you turn down Columbia for NYU ? I was acepted in both and despite NYU is very good, seems that everybody prefers Columbia...

I believe Columbia and NYU are equaly good. They are both ranked 4 in the USNews & world report 2007. You probably should make your choice in accordance to your specialty area and your professional goals. NYU is the nation's top law school in international law and tax law and excellent in IP law. Columbia is generally excellent in all areas of the law, but less good than NYU in specialty areas.
If you want to be a "Wall Street" type of lawyer, you should probably go for NYU.

I'm now attending to NYU corporation. It's really good for "wall street" type lawyer. The professors are supreme! Especially, I recommend Prof. Choi's securities reguration class. He will also teach M&A class next year, which is not held this year. I think Prof. Allen's corporation law, which will be held Fall semester, is promissing. Because He was a Delaware chanceller, his profound knowledge of corporation law will impress you. I couldn't take his class because he is currently in a sabburtical year. I REALLY miss it.

with respect to NYU IP Laws....i think Columbia offers far more advanced courses...plus columbia has prof. ginsburg. people in doubt can look at her publications....NYU also has prof. dreyfuss and her take on experimental use doctrine was brilliant. but all said and done....columbia is columbia...i chose it over nyu+scholarship....

Well guys, after had talked with some Columbia current students, I decided go to Columbia. Seems that still being the best option.

Why do you think NYU offers so many scholarships to prospective LLMs whereas CLS does not grant any such financial aid?

maybe it's becuase CLS makes less money by having a class of 200 than NYU with a class of 400...just joking ;-p

NYU offers a lot more business law courses, and it's more generous to foreign students in term of scholarship policy. My preference of course goes for NYU.
