Hi everyone,
I was admitted to both Columbia and NYU. Which one should I choose? Please advise in terms of prestige, quality of teaching, career opportunities and student life. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

There's no definitive answer to that question; it very much depends on your academic interests. Each school has its advantages and, undoubtedly, its disadvantages. For example, you wdn't do a tax LL.M at Columbia, would you? At the same time, if you are an international law specialist, you'd be hard pressed to find a better faculty than NYU's for international law issues (be they private or public). You also need to consider issues of perception in your home country. As shallow as it sounds, some schools have the requisite cachet in certain countries and some don't. That's my two cents' worth. As with all advice on this site, it must be taken "cum grano salis". Absolute answers, one way or the other, rarely provide comfort.
