I don`t think so.

According to Sylvia Polo (dean of admission), all you need to do is just send then a copy of your acceptance letter within a deadline and ask for some answers.

good luck!!!

Hmm, I read some threads about the admission process, and apparently one should not rush them.

I have talked to Sylvia Polo.

She told me that they need a proof that you have a deadline in other school and they i'll do the best to speed things up a little bit.

You may get an acceptance letter or rejection...

Thank you....
I guess it´s a gamble... It could either work or it could just backfire on you....I don´t know what to do....
NYU@NUS has given me a january 22 deadline to enroll....I was granted a US20.000 scholarship, so if I wait, I´ll lose that.....
Anyway, even with an expedited decision request, I don´t think CLS will say anything before this friday....

you should send them your expedited decision request. just forward to them the admission letter that you received from NYU as the proof of admission. they will reply immediately (based on my experience). of course, the reply will either be admission or rejection, but they will read your application ahead if you send them this proof of admission. that's what i did, and it was for an NYU deadline too (i got in columbia). good luck!

I guess you´re right...If I´m going to get rejected, I may as well be rejected now so I can finally make up my mind and take one of the offers I have already received.....

I'd suggest the same. I eman CLS is willing to accept the best candidates only. If the decide that you are one of them, they will not reject you just because you ask for an expedit answer!

CLS 2009-10,

Did you receive any financial aid? Either way, can you give some insight into how that process works? Also, I assume you are a foreign applicant, yes?

Insideout, I am a foreign applicant and I did not receive any financial aid, but I did not applied to it. I do not know many people who received financial aid from CLS. IN general, CLS does not give too many financial aid. NYU, on the other hand, gives a lot! Good luck!

Yes. It is normal. I believe that the regular cycle decisions will start being delivered on mid-february. Good luck!

Thanks. I am really hoping for substantial financial aid!

Hi all,
I sent my expedited decision request last week....Still no word from them....They haven´t said anything at all so far......
One of my deadlines already expired.....I´m very worried about my other applications....If they notify me until mid february, should I be rejected, I may not be able to enroll elsewhere either!

If I were you, I would call Sylvia Polo and explain your particular situation. I faced the same problem.

Well, actually, I sent my request to her.....It was very detailed and it had my acceptance letters attached....I´m gonna give them this week to answer...If not, I may have to call her....
I´m trying to keep some distance anyway... I don´t want that to hurt my chances of being admitted

Would it be inappropriate if you could tell us what other universities admitted you before CLS? It´s just to know what kind of chances I might have....
