Columbia Regular Cycle

Hi all,
I sent my expedited decision request last week....Still no word from them....They haven´t said anything at all so far......
One of my deadlines already expired.....I´m very worried about my other applications....If they notify me until mid february, should I be rejected, I may not be able to enroll elsewhere either!

If I were you, I would call Sylvia Polo and explain your particular situation. I faced the same problem.

Would it be inappropriate if you could tell us what other universities admitted you before CLS? It´s just to know what kind of chances I might have....

Only Penn, because I was admitted in the early application. But afterwards, I was also accepted by Chicago, NYU, Berkeley, Northwestern.

I don´t know how this could gauge my chances but I have already been admitted to NYU@NUS (with a US$20.000 scholarship), NYU and Georgetown....
I know that if Columbia offers me admission to their LLM program, I will go there for sure...

You've already been admitted to NYU in NYC? I've been told by the admission office that no admission decisions will be send until mid-february...

Yes, since I also applied and was admitted to NYU@NUS, the admission letter stated that they were able to offer me admission to both LLMs in Singapore and New York. The admissions office told me that I could rest assured that if I declined the offer for study in Singapore, they would send me the admission papers for the New York based LLM in march...

Uh, then I guess that you just are to good to let you slip...may I ask what your credentials are?

Or maybe I was just lucky ;-)

I graduated from the University of Geneva, Switzerland, worked in a law firm for 2 years (junior associate) and then passed the Geneva Bar Examinations. I guess they appreciated the fact that I have been ranked 1st at the end of my studies.

But I didn't get any scholarship....

GlasgowLaw, from what I gather, if you have been deferred, unfortunately, the process is essentially over. I have never heard of a deferred applicant who got into CLS. If you applied to other schools, you should be more concerned with those. At this point it is highly unlikely that Columbia will be accepting deferred applicants.

I think it is not true. I am a current LLM student at Columbia and I have friends here who were deferred and eventually got in...

Really? How many deferred friends do you know of? What percentage? The truth is that very very few deferred applicants get admitted. Very few.
