Hi Guys,
Most of the posts here reflect that an applicant has either been rejected or accepted. I mean, I have not come across posts by any anyone stating that he/she has been wait listed. Does it mean that people who have not heard from Columbia are sort of placed in a waitlist and once they hear acceptance/rejection from applicants of that particular country to whom offers had been made by Columbia, they accordingly send a response to the wait listed applicants.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Dear Sapphire, last monday i sent an expedited decision request to Columbia and on friday they sent me an e mail stating that the add com will not be able to decide on my file until next week. In my opinion this means that we have to wait for the decisions of the admitted people from your country then we ll decide whether to admit u or not...

I think it just means they have not considered/gone through our applications. the applicants they have considered but have not made a decision about have gone into the waitlist.

But seriously, when will we ever know?

Also, Sapphire, there's a separate thread for waitlisted candidates. Started by dbk if I'm not mistaken.

I have not yet heard from Columbia - neither rejected, admitted or waitlisted. If one is waitlisted, one receives an official e-mail stating that one is waitlisted.

It´s been 3 months since I received my "application complete" e-mail now.
NYU´s deadline to enroll is on april 15. And that´s my only other option. I hope they sort this out before that date.

Hello! I requested an expedited reviw of my application today, as to I am accpeted on NYU and the deadline is april 15th....Two hours after I receive an email saying that I must do that request only on Friday 8 or after, attaching my offer letter. What a joke!

A question: Did you guys list in your application all the Colleges you were planning to apply to? I ask, because I, at the point at which I made the Columbia application, I wasn't really planning to apply anywhere else. But i did apply to Cornell and upenn. I've currently received an offer from cornell. should I ask for an expedited decision from columbia even though I haven't revealed to columbia that I applied to cornell/ any views?
