I really don't understand how they process applications. I applied at the beginning of October, asked for expedited review over 10 days ago, and still haven't received a decision...

Hi All,

I have a couple of deadlines approaching, and I was wondering if there is anyone on this forum who has received the Human Rights Fellowship at CLS? Could you please let me know when Columbia releases its financial aid results?

I have asked for an expedited financial aid review but have not received any response yet. I am guessing there are many who are in a similar situation, if not CLS then with other illustrious institutions.

Hoping to receive some insight on this. Thanks a lot.

Hi all,

I've also asked for expedited finaid review on Wednesday. I have not received any response yet. I applied to the Appel Fellowship. Did anyone receive it / has anyone received other scholarships?

Has anyone requested an expedited review on financial aid decisions? If so, was the request successful? I have an offer from NYU with a merit-based scholarship, which is set to expire on April 2, 2018. I would like to know where I stand with Columbia in order to make a decision.

I asked them about that as well. They did not give me any financial aid

Did they flat out refuse giving aid or did they not respond. I am still waiting to hear from them :(

Contrary to NYU Columbia has confirmed to the concerned applicants that they will not be receiving finaid at all. So if you have not heard maybe you're on a waiting list or they are still considering your application somewhere. Or theyre just slow.

Just a +1 on the 'expedited review requests don't work against you' comments. I asked for expedited review last Tuesday, was accepted on Friday. Good luck to all still waiting!

I asked Columbia for an expedited review of my application (not financial aid) as I had deadlines with other Unis and they said they’d let me know as soon as they make a decision. Given it’s now the of March, do I give up hope and commit to my second best option? Or will there be a wait list soon? Anybody else in the same position? This waiting game is killing me.

Does anyone know if fin aid is offered to people after 1 April who previously weren’t offered any fin aid (ie due to other candidates declining their places)? I know that happens at NYU but I’m hoping against hope I might get offered something from Columbia!

I would not bet on that, if they did not mention possible financial aid in your admission email. I am still waiting for the aid financial decision (announced in my admission email) and don't think that I am the only one.
