Has anyone received/heard about the CLS Jagadish Bhagwati Fellowship for Indians this year?
Also, for all those who are still waiting -- I called the CLS Office of graduate legal studies, they said that the admissions committee has received a lot of requests for expedited decisions and has been working over the weekend reviewing those applications. They hope to send out decisions on such applications this week, so that the applicants can accordingly make their decisions.

From what you wrote I understand that my chances of being edmitted are getting smaller by the minute... because they probably read the applications of those who requested for expedited decisions before they read the other applications....

I was waitlisted last Friday! Lots of expectations! They said they would have a reply within one or two weeks. I believe it will be as people decide to go to other Universities.

Hi Jack13,
Congrats on being admitted.
I have corresponded with them last week regarding my application and then got an automatic reply that they are on vacation until today at 13.30 pm New York time, hence wasnt expecting any feedback sooner than that.

Hi,
May I ask whether the rejection you received has been labeled as final, or have they said that there may be some additional openings if you agree to give up your deadline?

They do not mention in any form any possibility of being considered if I give up my deadline. It is a flat rejection.

Good luck everyone. I did request an expedited decision. I will probably reject my offer as I got a sweet deal from somewhere else.

Hi guys! !
Anyone have any idea about columbia s deferral policy? ? The website says it is rarely granted. . Would be helpful to know if someone was granted one and based on what grounds! !!

Hi cam15,
I have a similar doubt.
Also has anyone got an increase in their financial aid this year? If yes, then what do they look for in an app to grant extra aid- work ex, credentials, or need?

Their financial aid is need-based, except two or three merit-based scholarships which require additional essay to be submitted at the time of application.

Thanks for the info.
In the past 2-3 years, have they entertained request for increase of financial waivers?

just got in. no financial decision.

Anyone hear from Columbia recently regarding financial aid? I hope they haven't forgotten about us. I've already declined a good offer and some other offer deadlines are coming up.

Does anyone know what is the normal deadline for accepting offers at Columbia? Is it April1st? If so, I assume that available seats, if any, will be allocated among those on waitlist during the course of today/this week?
I am on waitlist, and already lost a few good offers which expired yesterday, and am afraid to lose those I have left until hearing back from Columbia. I will probably wait until the end of this week, but no longer.
Any advice will be appreciated.
