Dear All,
Do you know when early review decision will be known?
Maybe sooner than last december?
What happened last year?
Someone in LLM in Columbia...?
Thanks!

Hi Jetlag,
I am waiting for news as well. Judging from last year's posts, decisions might be communicated from now on until the end of the year...

Hey Jetlag,
I applied for early review as well, but I have not heard from them yet. I think they received my Toefl score later than expected, so I might be missing early review, but we'll see.. Let's keep in touch to see when they release the news..
Good luck!

Hi, I submitted my application for early review on 29 September 2010, and I have yet to receive any feedback. Columbia did send an email saying that all my requirements are complete, and that I should wait for a decision no later than the end of December. November 25, last year is quite fast!

Hey,
no news for me yet, either. Although I did submit my application much closer to the November 1st deadline than you did, dasein. :-) I am checking my e-mails all the time now... maybe this year they take longer to make the decisions.

I applied for early review and completed my application on 20 October.
I have not received a decision yet.
I am interested in hearing if anyone has.

Hi,
I applied around the same date. No reply yet. My friends received their admission notices on December 14 and 15 in the last year. So, we might have to wait another week.
Rgds,
P

Hi guys, I got this deferral email yesterday:
"Thank you for your interest in Columbia Law Schools 2011-12 LL.M. Program. After careful consideration of your Early Review application, the admissions committee has determined that we are unable to make a decision on your LL.M. application at this time. This years Early Review applicant pool was among the largest and most highly qualified in the history of the program. Thus, competition for early admission was exceptionally keen. We anticipate that altogether nearly 1,700 candidates will apply for the approximately 230 places in our LL.M. Class of 2012.
While we are unable to give you a decision at this time, in recognition of your strong academic and professional credentials we have deferred your application to the regular admission cycle to be reconsidered with the full applicant pool. We hope to make most admission decisions by April, and appreciate your understanding and patience as we continue to review files. We will let you know as soon as we have made a final decision on your application. In the meantime, we send you our best wishes for a very happy new year."

You still have a nice chance to be admitted. Early review is a weird thing, and I have noticed that some law schools have unofficial criteria for the number of LLM applicants to be admitted from certain countries, like a lot of students are usually from Brazil, India, China, Japan and Switzerland.

Top 15% in my class, 5 years work experience, currently partner, 115 toefl score, pro bono work in judiciary and congress, including courses to federal judges. Recommended by high level management of clients. I guess not enough for early review...

PF007, great credentials. I'm sure you'll get in and, if not Columbia, certainly another top 5 will admit you. Where are you from? How old are you? Do you have any publications / master degree / anything?

I applied for early review (October 12) and have not heard anything. Getting anxious...
