Thank you!
Columbia is an awesome school, although whether it is eventually CLS or not will be known once I've heard back from the other schools...
To those wondering: I did apply under the early review and my application was received on November 13.
Good luck to everybody!

I have been accepted yesterday at CLS! I'm pretty happy since I thought that without more than 3 month-internships each summer for the past 3 years, and being on my final year of studies in France (Master2), I had not a single chance in CLS. Seems that they are more flexible than they show to be on their website.
It's a pitty other universities don't do the early review system, now I have to wait for 3 months before being able to be settled.

I applied in NYU on 15th November; my online file got complete on last day i.e 1st Dec with recommendation letters, however my transcript was sent to the university last week...i read somewhere on site that untill they recieve physical transcript they wont take up my application for decision...i m really scared if my application doest get rejected on late submission itself. pls have some comment on my situation...

well, I guess it depends who sent your transcripts only last week?
If it is you or your university, I am not sure that it would be too late since you were supposed to post all before the deadline.
But if it is LSAC who reported only last week whereas you sent all to LSAC before the deadline, it shouldn't be a problem.

Usually the Universities are less strict for the materials which depend on third parties. They won't review your application without the transcrits, but they should not reject it either. A friend of mine sent his toefl score reports to NYU much time after the deadline and was nonetheless admitted (two years ago). So unless they change their policy you should not worry.
Best of luck.
Best of luck.

Don't worry at all! They are very relaxed. But anyway if you have any doubts just call them. I called University myself and they are always very helpful. IShould this calms you down just call. Best of luck!!!

I recieved an email from Columbia that says my application has been deferred to the regular admission cycle.
i want to know how much of my possibility of admission.
Is there any one who are in the same situation ?
I really hope I will be admitted by columbia...

I received the email confirming that my application was complete on November 2, but I don't have an answer yet. So that, the applications are not being reviewed in order...
I think that they will send a deferral to some people just because they won't have time to see everything. Good luck to us!

I think they have already sent the admission decisions last week to people who have been admitted and now they are deciding on the rest-whether to defer or reject..

It is difficult to say that. Two weeks ago they sent some rejections and last week they sent some acceptances. It seems that nobody received rejections just because people usually don't come to the board and tell about rejections. What is more, in general, very few people received answers... anything we think now will be nothing but a guess...

Yes maybe..

I agree with you PNB! It is nothing but a rough guess to say that now they will only send rejections or defferals!!! A friend of mine that was admitted through the early review last year got the email on 12/28/2005 and he was the fortunate one to get a 50% tuition waiver! So I believe there will be some good news to some of us up to December 30th.

No point hazarding guesses rt now - I am sure all of you have a great shot at CLS...
But Mariemboston, sorry to bring it up: there was no early review last year - I was keeping a tab on proceedings last yr as I intended to apply for 2007-08 - yr friend - obviously with excellent credentials - must hv been admitted early with aid, as he was well qualified

yes exactly, there was no early review but I also know someone who was admitted in late december last year and he had excellent credentials in fact

I also agree with pnb.
I received the email of deferral yesterday, but one of my friends received the admission email yesterday.
I think that the late timing of email is not a sign of bad news from columbia.
good luck with all of you and i hope i can see all of you at columbia..
