hmm they might have changed the rules because so many civil law peeps opted out :)

i thought that this was unfair, because like for nyu, the intro to US law course doesn't consume any credits. in any case, some people took CIAL because it was an easy way to get three credits and some didn't quite want the shock of taking a full set of 4-5 classes and the CIAL allows you to adjust slowly i guess. but i would have hated to waste 3 credits on CIAL; i'm hardcore like that, LOL

Don't know about that. I thought I read it was mandatory. However, I think it's a good way to get started.

Hey that is interesting to know. I come from a common law background - do you know if I can apply to waive the pre LLM bit?

actually, some people who took and passed the exam still chose to take the class. i guess they were mesmerized by george p. fletcher.

Hi!
I will be declining my offer, so a spot will be vacated for someone on the waiting list!
Does anyone know how to actually decline an offer from CLS? I can't find any procedure for it online or in the offer pack. If anyone has figured it out, please let me know.
Thanks

Thanks, I was hoping there was an alternative procedure (like with Cambridge - you can log in to self-service and accept or decline your offer). OK, going to draft that email now!

Anyone know what exactly is on the opt-out exam for CIAL? Perhaps a few sample questions?? I'm taking it because I have to go home for a week after registration for my sister's wedding and am a little nervous. Though I'm from common law background and they say it's not hard, I'm a good few years out of law school and would love to know what i'm headed toward!

In other threads, you said you were a current CLS student, so why do you need to know the answer to this? Can you delay taking the CIAL?

By the way do you mind sharing which country youre from? Thanks.
