CLS 2013

kollaps

Hello everyone:

I have some deadlines coming in a couple of days and wanted to ask for an expedite decision from CLS. I remember reading some posts that stated that when other people asked for it, they got a response within the next couple of days but, unfortunately, the response was a rejection.

Do you guys know of anyone that submitted a similar request and actually received an admission letter?

I don't want to risk sending the request if it will interfere in any way with obtaining a positive rather than a negative result.

Some feedback in this regard would be very much appreciated.

I remember seing someone in this thread that asked for an expedite decision and was admitted, but i am not sure.

I have no other option at this moment, so coincidently I was just now drafting an e-mail to Columbia asking for an expedite decision...

Indeed I hope it does not harm my admission...fingers crossed!!

To be sure, I searched for it again. It is in the thread "Columbia - Regular cycle", posted by a guy named "kollaps":

I asked for an expedited review on Tuesday and got an admission offer yesterday. I'm very very happy!

Best of luck for those still waiting!

Yep, it worked for me. However, as far as I can remember, in the same week 2 other applicants asked for an expedited review and got rejected.

Be sure you have other admissions pending (better with a financial aid or scholarship) before asking for an expedited review!

Hello everyone.

Harvard's decisions are about to come out, and so are Stanford's I guess, so I would like to kindly suggest that everyone who has been accepted to Columbia and who chooses to enroll in another school make Columbia aware of that decision in a timely fashion. I believe that way, CLS will be able to move a littler faster regarding the applicants who haven't received any decision yet. I agree with someone who previously said that we were likely to be on a de facto waiting list, and I guess CLS won't make any step further before they hear about applicants who have also been accepted to HLS/SLS/NYU/Chicago/Berkeley etc and who will choose not to accept Columbia's offer. That would be very nice to all of us who are still waiting :).

By the way, has CLS sent a lot of refusals yet ? It seems strange that people on this thread rarely mention that they have been refused.

Has anyone who has a CLS offer asked them to extend the date by which you must accept? I'm meant to respond by 25 March, and I'm keen to hear back from Harvard first.

Harvard's decisions are out! Good Luck!

Now that Harvard decisions are out, do you think, as some people will probably decline Columbia, Columbia will start releasing new decisions?? I has been too long (3 weeks I believe) since the last group of decisions were sent!

Good luck to all!!

I'm new to this website. I just meant to let those waitlisted know that I'm going to decline CLS offer very soon. My deadline is on the 22nd. Good luck!

Hey Bro, could u kindly advise when u exactly received the swift admission? I mean whether it was rendered on weekend or during the spring break. I am reckoning if I should also mail CLS aksing for an expedited decision. Cheers!

Congratulations!! Quick question, what reason did you give for asking for an expedited decision? thanks :)

I'm actually a female "bro" (lol)...I received the admission yesterday night, almost at the moment I wrote the post.

Best!

Well...I was actually more worried about the March 22nd deadline and I was not expecting them to respond within a day (I sent the e-mail on March 14th).
