Hey there:
University of Chicago Law School's web-site states that: "...it is the responsibility of applicants to monitor the status of their applications". I have sent in the application and DHL has confirmed delivery. I was wondering if anyone knows if they send an "application complete" notification of their own accord, or whether you are supposed to enquire as to the status of the application and ask them to tell you that it is complete?
Many thanx. Any help given will be greatly appreciated.

Give them a call if you want to make sure (people are usually friendly over here :-)). But if DHL says it's delivered, that means that you don't have to worry.

masteroflaws2007,
Did you give them a call already?
When you will get to know something please inform me...
I applied to Chicago too and very interested about it.

Hi actually received a "completed application" notification from them y'day - didn't have to call luckily :) I think they take about a week to confirm receipt and completion

Chicago should be very prompt. At least last year, I received confirmation on the same day my application reached the university.

Hi LLM_06
You are at Chicago now - am I correct? When did they release their decisions last year? Their website indicates that they would be declared as they are made. But could you attribute a rough time period to when most decisions were made (if possible) in '05? Many thanx.

That's right, I'm in Chicago (that, as tmalmine said in his blog post, still uses intensively the Socratic method, which can be very daunting sometimes). Decisions for the first batch were released in the middle of February (although people admitted had submitted their applications in a very different time frame). A little later, they sent a list of LLMs that could be contacted and a whole bunch of documents to help you make your decision.
Best!

I just got the offer of admission e-mail from Chicago U. yesterday. I sent the application quite early (before Dec 1).
I have to respond to its offer of admission before April 15 and i'm considering.

My application just went complete and was submitted to the Committee for evaluation. Does anyone have any idea how long it generally takes from this point to receive a decision?
All help appreciated

I applied at the end of october/beginning of november, received notice of completeness a few days after I have sent my application and got my notification of admission via e-mail at the end of january. Good luck!!

DId Chicago have the early admissions process (i.e. Nov.15 deadline), or are all their applications simply reviewed on a rolling basis?
Posted Feb 14, 2007 22:12
The application intructions in their homepage just mentioned the January 15 deadline, so I guess there was no early admission process.

Hey ciunas! My application went complete on January 10th and I received today (02/14) an e-mail informing that I've been placed in the standby group. So, it might take a month, but April 15th should be the limit, since it was also said that "applicants who have been offered admission are asked to respond to our offer by April 15".
Good luck!
