Hey guys..
I have just declined my offer of admission from NYU!
I am more inclined to accept Michigan's offer, since it's a smaller class and the possibility of individualized study is greater.
Still waiting on Columbia, even though I am almost a hundred percent sure I will decline it as well.
Anyone also got accepted to Cambridge and Leiden? I really don't know if I should choose Michigan, Cambridge or Leiden haha
Well, it depends on what you want. I confess Cambridge is a great temptation. What is your area of expertise?
Litigation and arbitration, mainly. Cambridge is indeed a great temptation!

I just declined Northwestern's offer in case someone is waitlisted.
I will probably make my final decision regarding Michigan and Georgetown tomorrow.

Hi Guys,
Are you swimming in money?
How are you paying your education?
I was admitted to Berkeley Professional Track but I don't have all the money to pay for it. What are you doing? Is there any good samaritan to lend the tuition amount to me? Zero interest rate?
Seriously can someone shed a light on what to do?
I must accept the offer no later than April 15th.

In my case, it's a mix of a lot of things hahaha:
(i) personal savings - I started saving money when I was still an intern;
(ii) employers' loan - it's in my law firm's best interest for me to earn my LLM abroad;
(iii) scholarships - if you have a good enough academic and professional background, there's a high chance you'll be offered some sort of financial aid; and
(iv) parental support - even though they are not able to help me substantially, they are doing the best they can.

I haven't receive any aid. I am using my personal savings (selling my car, etc) and parental help.
On the bright side, we won't have to pay for public transportation. hahaha

Financial aid from my law firm and hopefully another aid from the law school I attend. The rest will be of personal savings. I'm starting to buy dollars now and thus feeling the burden of the fall of the Brazilian Real against the Dollar :-(

Just found this forum, happy to see there are so many brilliant brazilians being accepted to really great LLMs in US.
I saw that just a few of you applied for european LLMs, as I did. I was admitted on the Geneva LL.M. in International Dispute Settlement (MIDS).
They said they'd be sending us the scholarship decisions ON APRIL 7th. Which was TODAY (in europe is already midnight)... but no one got answers and the Application Follow Up on the website didn't change at all.
The scholarship offered covers the whole program + living expenses.. so it does matters a lot. =/
Is there anyone of you applying for MIDS? Or maybe someone with any kind of advise of what should I do (should i send an e-mail? find patience somewhere and wait longer?how much longer?)...
I am kinda freeaking out. Can't focus anymore. :(

Hello Vanessa, thank you for your compliment. We (all of us) are really brave to leave Brazil in this moment. Our currency is not on its best moment...
I totally understand your anxiety. I would just send an email, Alternatively, just call them. If the scholarship is not granted, are you still going? Do you have other offers that you can use as a bargain?

Dear all,
I would like to know where are you guys going to enroll?
Is there any facebook group for the brazilians candidates of 2015-16 class?
I am going to attend the traditional program at NYU.
What about you guys?
