Berkeley LLM Traditional Track 2020/2021

mcampos
Hi everyone! I am new to this thread. Congratulations for those admitted!

Btw, does anyone know if I can accept Berkeley’s offer, while at the same time remain on other school’s waitlist? Does Berkeley’s admission policy allow that?

As a background, I have been admitted to Berkeley. But I have also been informed by other law school that they have placed me in their waitlist. I want to keep my options open and hence the above question.

I think I saw in other thread that NYU requires its offerees to withdraw their applications in other schools (or something like that) when accepting its offers – not sure what the exact undertaking is or if this is true at all, I can’t find the post anymore. I am just wondering if Berkeley has similar rule/restriction?

Thanks in advance.

I have the same doubt. I have received a 30k scholarship from another school but I want to keep my options open until I have all financial aid decisions.

You are right about NYU. I received a 15k scholarship with its policy and terms:

"Scholarship Policy and Enrollment Terms
Our merit-based scholarships are intended to assist those whose first choice is NYU. In making this offer, we are committing our most precious material and reputational resources—one of our prestigious merit awards—to you, as someone of great accomplishment and for whom we hope NYU is the most desirable place to complete your master’s degree. Therefore, the Committee requires that you are not a deferred student at another institution, withdraw from all admission offers you have received, and not initiate any new applications nor request reinstatement at an institution from which you have withdrawn in order to accept the award and enroll at NYU. It is our expectation that you honor the terms to which you will agree when you accept the award. We rely on your good faith and professional integrity in this matter."

That's why I am going to decline NYU offer.
