BC vs BU (with scholarship)

I got admitted to BC and BU in American Law with a scholarship over 20'000 (for BU). Do you have any advice? Which law school seems to be better?

If I got such an amount of money from BU, I would go to BU between the two.
$20,000 is a lot of money, especially in this economy.

According to the ABA official data, Boston College has 781 students,

Boston University has 836

I don't think the difference is large enough to conclude that one is "huge" and the other isn't.

Boston College has this true campus feel indeed, though, I doubt it's worth 20k more.

Do you know anything about the quality of the LLM programs?

Those should be the numbers of each school's JD students.
BU has a much bigger LL.M. student body.

Is the size of the LLM program really of importance, having in mind that at BU you are taking JD classes anyway?

I'm not sure. Maybe JD classes are smaller, but you have to attend two classes with only LLM students.

I believe, that the size of LL.M really matters. I was advised that as regards Banking&Financial Law ALL LL.M calsses are held separately. J.D. students can attend them, but subject to the places availbale and just as visiting students. That means that LL.M class of app. 45 students for the Banking&Financial Law is pretty much a small size LL.M program which implies that sudents are able to take an active part in the educational process.
This is what differs it from many other programs and was the most importnant factor personally for me.
Unfortunetely, I do not know anything about the BC.
Good luck!

There will be events and activities only for LL.M. students as well as only for J.D. students.
If the class size is small, you would have a better chance to get to know each other well and to get more personal attention from your school. On the other hand, with a big class size, you would have more people to get to know.

Congratulations and thank you for your feedback.
According to Financial Times http://media.ft.com/cms/af0de6ee-aaa7-11dd-897c-000077b07658.pdf
BU had 186 students enrolled in LL.M in 2007/2008 vs BC 12. Can you confirm BC figures?

yeah , thats right. LLM is new at BC. This year they are taking 26 and it is going to be the 3rd year. Except for 1 we shared all the courses and the classes with JDS. ( up to 28 credits). It is a general LLM b but you could focus on whatever that interests you. The director of LLM at BC is the former director of LLM at Harvard. you could read my post about my experience with LLM at BC

Hello. I have gotten accepted into Boston University's LL.M. program in American Law for Fall 2012 and BC's LL.M. program. I am very confused between both choices. So much research has been done between the two that I was hooked up on going to BU given its overall name and reputation. However, I just received a 10K scholarship from BC. Now, I am not sure what to do. BC is a good law school as well, but why do people always say "BU" is the way to go? Please help me. I need to make a decision soon and it seems BC is the way to go???
