Is anybody postponing taking the bar until after they get their LLM?

what country are you from? civil law or common law? coz it matters. I wouldn't take the bar before the LLM if you are from a civil law country ... however, even coming from a common law country there are differences. I would do the LLM first, get it out of the way ... learn a few things along the way (esp. if you can take first year JD classes if the university you get into allows you coz these are tested in the bar).

I got my bar exam result yesterday and I passed. I come from a common law jurisdiction and did it before I do my LLM. It works both ways, revising for the bar before an LLM can also help you in your LLM.

I concur ... and the thing about that is that you might have an advantage when it comes to job hunting during the semester. However when I was a JD many LLMs seemed to struggle with it first time round. Its really about one's own committment to the process since you can get all the preparation materials from BarBri (or whatever prep course you opt for).
