Hey everyone,
I recently was admitted to both American University's and George Washington's LL.M. programs in International Law. I was admitted to AU before GW, so I actually sent AU a deposit already, and was subsequently admitted to GW.
Which school, honestly, is better for this program? In my line of work I've come across a lot of people from AU, but not many from GW, at least in the field of international law. I know GW is a better law school overall rank-wise, but AU does have a really good international law program too. They both do. My initial top choice when applying has been GW, but the more I read, the more it appears that AU has a good program too.
This is a very hard debate for me. I am still waiting on NYU, but we'll see how that goes. If I get into NYU I would go there, but if not, then it would be GW, or AU. Also applied to Leiden, but given that I am a domestic US applicant, and I recently learned that Leiden lost their eligibility to approve US government loans and defer my existing law school loans, they are out of the game.
Thoughts on which school I should actually attend? GW or AU? Interested in public international law. Has anyone attended either school for an international law LL.M.?
Thanks!

if you're talking of int'nal public law, I'd choose GW over AU, mainly 'cause of some faculty now teaching at GW.

We are pretty much in the same situation, as I am also interested in international law, especially in public international law. Applied to NYU also, where I would defInitely go but I haven't hear from them yet and I think it's rather difficult to be accepted. Applied to Leiden as well...Well, as far as it concerns AU and GW, I chose to apply only to AU, as they gave me the impression that their ILSP program is very dynamic and modern and with very good connections with all the major international organizations around DC. They also seem to have very good internship opportunities. I would go to Georgetown instead of AU, but no to GW.

Oh....I am going to American. I did not apply for NYU and GW but American because of very nice programs and their diversity!
Let's study international laws together in the same camp(*^-^)!!
