Advice, Please!

Hello, I'm a 2nd year J.D. and really need advice about applying for an L.L.M program so that I can begin right after law school in fall of 2011.

I attend a 3rd Tier law school and know my job prospects after law school will be very dim, especially in my area of interest. I would like to practice business law, but feel my school's ranking will hinder me. I have solid grades, top 20%, moot court. I enjoyed and did very well in contracts, sales, corporations and now taking tax.

My question is: Would you advise me to apply to a business related LLM after law school? Do my stats make me competitive for a top program such as from Georgetown or NYU? Do you think getting say an LLM in International Fiance from Fordham would help me to land a firm job? Or is this a pipe dream that will only further drown me in debt?

ANY advice is appreciated. I can't find anyone here at school with any helpful insight on this issue : /

Transfer to a better law school unless you have a job waiting for you upon graduation. LL.M. will not help you to get a job with big law in this economy and will be a waist of your money.

An LLM after a JD adds nothing unless you want to go into academia or certain other areas. If you want to practise corporate law it will be a very expensive year for practically no benefit.
