Hey there,
I also plan to apply to USC but later on... I have realised that they have the wierdest documentation/application requirements (e.g. that they want evidence for financial support documentation, a minimum gpa threshold set for each country, direct mailing of the recos to the admissions comittee, english translation of transcripts that is obtained in the language of the university (even if the university is able to give it in english) so on so on...)
What I need to know is how strict they are with these requirements. Did you comply with all these?
Many thanks
S.

Hi scholar
To me it's not that weird, but some experience to share:
- financial support: just get a reference letter from your bank, sometimes with a fee, demonstrating that that your balance may support your studies of one academic year; I've done this via my bank HSBC. The bank knows it, it's very routine to them;
- minimum gpa threshold: i didn't address in my application; may be my gpa system is quite "standard", my law school uses 4.0 system.
- direct mailing of transcripts to USC - this is also quite normal as i have done this to UCLA and UC-Berkeley too
- english translation of transcripts - I think this is to ask those are not written in English, if your transcripts are already in English, then it's fine; otherwise, follow their instructions; My transcripts are all in English, so i have no problem of this.
One additional requirement is the writing sample. I do suggest you pick an excerpt from one of your school assigments that got a good grade, otherwise, i think the applications requirement of USC is perfectly normal.
I hope this is useful to you. And i'm still looking for financial aid. Anybody?

Waouw already!?!?! Congratulations!!! They really want you to answer so early, weird that they didn't grant you with a merit-based scholarship then.
I have not even sent my application yet!! Only Berkeley's one.

need to check how to raise money.

Same for me, I am applying to Berkeley, USC; UCLA and UT, but UCLA is my very first choice, maybe we'll end up together... I have sent my Berkeley's application, but will only send the other three next week.

No i don't think USC admits 1st class degree holders only. You may wait for a while as the deadline of application is 1 Feb.
if you see their 2007 LLM student profile, i think they're looking for diversity that people have different backgrounds from different countries.

Thats so quick!!! Did you guys apply extremely early? I thought the deadline was 1st of february?? Or do they have rolling admissions?

Hi guys!
I was also admitted to USC yesterday and this is the first admission for me, too. I am from Japan and will probably attend USC. See you soon in LA!!
To Kari,
I applied USC at the beginning of January. And yes, they have rolling admissions. It took about three weeks for their admission after the comletion of my application.

Hey, this is very exciting...congratulations to all!!!
> Scenery, which law school are you from? I'm from Chulalongkorn University. I heard that the USC usually admits couple of thai students every year. Where else did you apply?
>Kari, I sent all materials quite soon (like the end of november 2008) but only in January that I heard from admission office. Goodluck!
Hope we all meet at the USC this year!

Hey, it's great to see so many people are gonna meet up in USC. I got the AD too.
And Maurice, did you get any news about scholarship yet? I heard they only offer merit-based scholarship. I did send them an email requesting info about it but haven't heard from them yet. so I'm wondering if anyone got the scholarship from USC.
