Hello everyone. I'm a 3L student who is thinking of pursuing a LLM-taxation. I have some questions, and hopefully some of you can help...I have been researching LLM-taxation programs on the Internet, but I have been unable to find what grades/LSAT scores/class rank it takes to be accepted to some of these schools. Or if there's a site that gathers this information...
Any information would be greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!!

I got into the Taxation program Fall 08 at Boston Univ. My gpa was 3.16, LSAT score was 151. Still waiting on Georgetown and Florida. I got rejected from NYU and Northwestern.

LSAT scores are meaningless. Basically for NYU it comes down to your class rank and where you went to law school. The better the law school the worse your class rank can be. Tier 4 top 5%. Tier 3- 5-10%. Tier 2- 10-20% Tier 1- 20-25%. If you went to a top 14 law school you could prob get in easily with top 33%.
Of course there are outliers in every sample but with the above numbers you'd be safe to get into NYU. Of course if you have some great work experience or journal experience those also help. Good references and a good personal statement are also help. But overall it really comes down the class rank and law school rank.
As for other law school the standards are lower. For Georgetown you could probably add 5-10% onto each of the numbers above. Florida would probably be pretty similar to georgetown maybe with a little more slack because not as many people want to go to Florida.
For Northwestern the standards are hard to determine, their class size is very small so they tend to be quite selective. From what I hear they also tend to give lots of weight to experience.
For the rest of the LLM programs the standards are considerably lower. I'd venture that coming from a tier 1 or 2 school you could get into those programs hovering around the 50% mark or even lower. As for tier 3 and 4 it might even be possible to get in from 50% mark or so.
A great site to check out is the career forum on taxtalent.com. Post your stats there and people will give you lots of opinions.
